As
data is entered into these files the records that are created
become a permanent part of the system. Therefore it is important
to note that after your first show has been completed, all of
the Horse, Rider, Class and Accounting information is available
for the next show. This should greatly simplify data entry in
succeeding shows.
Once these files have been created, records can be changed,
deleted, or new records can be added to keep the files up to
date. Since this data is a valuable system resource, the Horse
Show Management system takes great care insuring the integrity
of all files. A system Backup function creates a copy of all data files. In the event of a
disk failure, the data can be brought back by the use of the Restore
function.
Generally, if a system has to be restored all data activity that
has occurred since the last backup was done is usually lost. The
Horse Show Manager uses a sophisticated data base system that
actually saves all data transactions. Using the Recover function
these saved transactions are applied to the restored files to
make them current.
Although the likelihood of disk failure is remote, the Horse
Show Manager provides total file integrity.
